Pyrolox Filters

While they can be a decent filter, Pyrolox filters certainly have their drawbacks. That is why we developed the newer state of the art technology called Terminox ISM. While both water filters can oxidize, over years we found that Pyrolox tends to bunch more often; loses more mineral faster over the years, is more susceptible to pH issues; burns up faster when over chlorinated; damages faster in lower pH ranges, even if only for a short time.

Our Terminox filters are generally up to 20% more effective than the Pyrolox systems you see online. Be especially wary of companies who use Pyrolox filters with piston driven valves such as Fleck or Clack. Especially when high amounts of iron, sediment, sand or iron bacteria are present. It is your first sign that company may be selling marginal technology. While our Terminox ISM filters are a few dollars more than the marginal Pyrolox filters, they are definitely worth it if you want the superior performance and reduced service issues (Almost none) that the Premium Water Filtration Terminox ISM filter brings to the table.
