Chicago's best water softeners, iron filters and water treatment system bargains. We are the industry leader in budget priced high quality water softeners, water conditioners, reverse osmosis drinking water purification systems, iron filters, sulfur filters, dirt and sediment filters. Early settlers first drew water from the Chicago
River, but as it became polluted, they turned to the lake shore or shallow
wells. The settlers either carried water home in buckets or bought it from
peddlers who sold the water from horse-drawn wagons. This water system soon
became inadequate for the fast growing city so a new water works, municipally
owned, was built and placed into operation in 1854.The old Water Tower that
stands at Michigan and Chicago Avenue was erected in 1869 and withstood the
Chicago Fire of 1871.Today, Chicago's water system supplies an average of more
than one billion gallons of water a day to over 5,050,000 people. This system
supplies filtered water to an area of 836 square miles for domestic, commercial
and industrial use and fire protection. Thus we have seen the water moved from Lake
Michigan, through the intake cribs by tunnels to the purification plants,
through the purification plants, then by tunnels to the pumping stations, and
from the pumping stations into the underground network of water mains comprising
the distribution system, finally reaching the point of usage by individual
consumers, industry, firefighters and suburbia. Well Water: The very best thing to do if you have a private well is follow the instructions under items 7, 16 and 17 on this page: http://www.budgetwater.com/articles.htm

When it comes to water treatment equipment you should NEVER do business with ANY
company who does not have the same certifications as we do. It is just plain
crazy. There are so many "Fly by night" companies out there that it should be
the very FIRST rule in your decision making process. It is your first, and some
times ONLY, line of defense. Just look at our home page
to see our many appropriate certifications. You will find them all in the top
third of the page.
