Apache Junction Water Company pumps groundwater from two wells. Well number five, is the older of the two. It was drilled in November 1972, to a depth of 965 feet and pumps a maximum of 750 gallons per minute. Well number six was drilled in June 1996, to a depth of 1315 feet and was designed to pump a maximum of 625 GPM. The groundwater pumped from the wells is disinfected with chlorine. After this process, the water is pumped into storage tanks where water from both wells is blended before being placed into the distribution system and on to customer's homes.
